Visitors with a Golf Ireland or WHS handicap are welcome in all of our open competitions. Entry to our weekly Open Singles is €35 for visitors (€7 for members), and we run Men's Open Singles every Wednesday and Friday through the summer, alongside seniors', ladies' and scratch-cup opens.
Our opens are played over the full 18 holes at Ballyellis, an 18-hole par 72 parkland course in the Blackwater Valley with greens rated among the best in Munster. The weekly opens run from April to September, with the seniors', scratch-cup and bank-holiday events fixed in the club diary each spring.
18-hole singles Stableford played every Wednesday through the summer season. Tee times run through the day, with morning and afternoon slots available.
18-hole singles Stableford every Friday in summer. A popular start to the weekend for visiting golfers and societies looking for a competitive round.
One-day 18-hole singles Stableford for golfers aged 55 and over, drawing seniors from clubs across Cork, Kerry, Limerick and Tipperary.
18-hole strokeplay off scratch, with separate cups for the Junior, Intermediate and Minor handicap bands. Handicap limits for each cup are published with the fixture.
Team scramble over the August bank holiday weekend in three-person teams. Mixed teams of members and visitors are welcome and the format suits all handicaps.
Ladies' open singles and team days run by the ladies' committee through the season, normally on Tuesday afternoons, when the course is reserved for ladies' competitions.
Entries open once each competition is published to the club diary. You can enter online through BRS Golf open competitions or the Golf Ireland app, or by phoning the pro shop on +353 22 21145 (ext 2).
Golf attire applies on the course: collared shirts, tailored shorts and golf shoes, with no denim or football shirts. See the full dress code and directions to the club before you travel.
Head PGA Professional Graham Conway and the pro shop team handle open competition check-in and entries by phone. Open 7 days: 8.00–18.00 in summer and 9.00–16.30 in winter.
All open competitions require an active Golf Ireland or WHS handicap. Entry fees are set per competition and shown on each event's BRS entry page; the weekly Open Singles are €35 for visitors and €7 for members.
