Child Safeguarding

Mallow Tennis Club’s Child Safeguarding Statement and risk assessment, the people responsible, and who to contact with a concern.

Our commitment

Mallow Tennis Club provides tennis for children and young people through coaching, organised play, club, regional and provincial events and representative teams. The club follows Tennis Ireland’s rules and works under its safeguarding guidance, and its staff and volunteers set out to give every child, meaning anyone under 18, a safe environment in which to enjoy and develop through the game.

The Child Safeguarding Statement sets out the principles the club works to: valuing childhood, putting the needs of the child first, integrity in relationships, fair play, a safe and positive atmosphere, age-appropriate competition, and equality for every child regardless of ability, age, gender, religion, background or belief. The risk assessment that accompanies it, prepared under the Children First Act 2015 on Tennis Ireland’s template, identifies the risks of harm in the club’s activities and the policies and procedures that manage them.
